Danny Palmerlee is a freelance writer and photographer based in Portland, Oregon. He is the main author of numerous Lonely Planet travel guides, including Argentina, Best of Buenos Aires, South America on a Shoestring, Ecuador & the Galapagos Islands and Baja California & Los Cabos.

When he's not snooping around musty hotel rooms for Lonely Planet, he's either writing about travel or wracking his brain for another excuse to hit the road. His articles have appeared in the Los Angeles Times, The Miami Herald, San Francisco Chronicle and The Dallas Morning News, as well as other publications throughout the US and the world.
