Reisgids uit de bekende serie Lonely Planet over Oost-Afrika, te weten Kenia, Tanzania, Oeganda, Rwanda en Burundi. De gids is bijgewerkt met gegevens tot en met juni 2009, bijvoorbeeld de laatste ontwikkelingen na de verkiezingsrellen begin 2008 in Kenia. De gids gaat daar zorgvuldig op in en waarschuwt de lezer voor de risico's van een bezoek. Na een klein katern met kleurenfoto's van de hoogtepunten van het gebied informatie over o.a. geschiedenis, cultuur, eten en drinken en de omgeving. In de volgende hoofdstukken worden de afzonderlijke landen behandeld: highlights, toeristische informatie, adressen van hotels, eetgelegenheden e.d. voor elk budget. Daarna volgen algemene en specifieke reistips, o.a. adressen van belangrijke instanties, maar ook vervoersbedrijven en een woordenlijst. Met een katern kleurenfoto's, plattegronden en register.
