I'm studying this book in my International Relations course. It provides a great context for the state of contemporary politics and international relations. It uses up to date examples to illustrate political theory and thought. The historical origins of the nation-state system is also well explained and the gradual development and effect that contemporary globalization forces have on the world economy is an eye-opener! A must have for students of international law and international relations.

Dit is een studieboek welke onder andere bij de cursus kernmodule Internationale Betrekkingen op de UvA wordt gegeven. Van verschillende perspectieven wordt de het mondiale politieke toneel belicht. Welke macht hebben verschillende organen en organisaties. Het roept op tot gegronde discussies gedurende de werkgroepen. De schrijfstijl is duidelijk en niet overdreven academisch, zoals vaak in wetenschappelijke artikelen.

Het is een schoolboek, dus ik had het nodig. Persoonlijk vind ik dat de omslag mooi is en het is een net boek.
Verder wel groot en dik, maar daar doe je niks aan.
