Tutti Putti

Just as the catalogue title 'Tutti Putti' implies, it's all putti, those cherubic figures with the corkscrew curls and mischievous expressions. Working with the Italian maestro of hot-glass sculpting, Pino Signoretto, Chihuly has created a company of podgy putti to cavort on his Venetians and frolic among the blossoms of the Ikebana. Published on the occasion of Chihuly's 1991 solo exhibition at the Pence Gallery in Santa Monica, this text-less catalogue proves that a picture is worth a thousand words. Here it adds up to 25,000 with the luscious close-up views of the works and how they are made by photographers Russell Johnson and Nick Gunderson.
