We Need a Charismatic Reformation I believe we have grieved the Holy Spirit by allowing extreme teachings to become common in much of Spirit-filled ministry. Consequently, we need a Charismatic Reformation in which we separate ourselves from unbiblical teachings and the mindset that allows them to flourish. This Reformation, like the one led by Martin Luther in 1517, will have to come from the bottom up rather than from the top down. Too many of our major Charismatic leaders and institutions have compromised with error and been seduced by the love of money, like the Church leaders in Luther's day. The first step to take in a Charismatic Reformation is to identify which Charismatic teachings are biblical and which are not. This book will help fellow Charismatics in this task.-Mel Montgomery In The Seven Laws of Balance, Mel Montgomery-a Spirit-filled minister joins with Dr. Charles Goodwin-a Spirit-filled professor of New Testament Greek, to set before fellow Charismatics seven simple principles to use in judging Charismatic teachings, revelations, and practices. Then Rev. Montgomery and Dr. Goodwin test several common Charismatic teachings. Once readers see how glaringly unbiblical some teachings are, the reason we need a Charismatic Reformation becomes clear. In 1517, believers began to throw off the shackles of religious traditions and unbiblical teachings. Now, nearly 500 years later, it is time for us Charismatics to throw off ours.
