We do things because we think or believe something; action is preceded by thinking, however crazy,impulsive or chaotic that thinking might be. The Gunpowder Plot resulted from what some people thought or believed. So,it was a war that was won, or lost, in the mind first of all. And it is the mind, of course, where the decisive battle is fought.
