In All About Love staan nuttige en inzichtelijke statements en informatieve ideeën, waarvan veel resoneerde en me heeft laten reflecteren. hooks’ schrijft over liefde en een ontleende en nieuwe definitie ervan, liefde op allerlei verschillende manieren, en op een overwegend healing wijze. Wel op te merken: veel gender-essentialisme, weinig verkenning op gebied van queerness/lgbtq+, theoretische ondersteuning om sommige van haar beweringen te staven ontbrak, kon soms als een preek voelen door de vele religieuze en spirituele verwijzingen en ondertonen, wat niet voor iedereen is, uiteraard! Al met al, zeker het lezen waard, zeker leerzaam en inspirerend! Love is power!!!!! Love More
Een mooi boek, geschreven door een krachtige vrouw van kleur. Vol met wijsheden en levenslessen. Zeker een aanwinst voor in je boekenkast. Maar ook een goed boek om te geven aan jonge vrouwen die bell hooks waarschijnlijk inspirerend vinden.
bell hooks schrijft helder inzichtelijk over de vele misvattingen rondom liefde. Zonder dat ze in de gebruikelijke cliches vervalt. Messcherp en helder en ze laat zien hoe de maatschappij faalt in hoe we elkaar lief kunnen hebben.

Fijn om te lezen. Analytisch opgesteld boek, erg mooi.
Vrij Amerikaans in de stijl, maar er zitten toch een paar prachtige quotes en eye-openers in. Heel fijn boek voor iedereen die meer wilt weten over een leven in liefde, op alle mogelijke manieren.
