Be a hero

Dr. Bas Kodden, LL.M, M.Sc BA was born on July 15th 1970 in Raalte, Salland and studied Law and Business Administration at the University of Groningen. He received his PhD from Nyenrode Business Universiteit Before becoming part of Nyenrode’s Center for Leadership and Personal Development, Bas had been an entrepreneur for almost his entire professional career. At the age of 27, Bas’ spirit called on him to leave his job as a managing legal worker and to start up his first organization, a recruitment firm which developed into a group of specialized agencies with several offices and many employees. Being the managing director for 12,5 years he left the company in 2010 to conduct further academic research on leadership and personal development at Nyenrode Business Universiteit and to mentor and train young aspiring professionals to become future leaders. Bas is author of the book Be a HERO (‘Word een HELD’), a concept that is about energy resources, vitality and dedication. In this work biography, personal life lessons are coloured with business insights to which several of his heroes, especially famous sporters and sport coaches, have made contributions.
