Deze reisgids behandelt wat ons betreft het mooiste stuk Patagonie, op dit moment nog, relatief onontdekt is. En het doet dat op een prima manier. Alles wat je nodig hebt om deze road trip tot een aangename te maken wordt behandeld, inclusief goede historische context en achtergrond.

Ook is voldoende informatie beschikbaar over hikes en andere excursies onderweg.

Twee minpuntjes:
- campings worden niet gecoverd. Het is een boek voor mensen met een eigen auto voornamelijk, en de schrijvers gaan er dan vanuit dat je in hotels of hospedajes slaapt. Voor ons was dat met onze 2 kids niet het geval, de campings misten we dus
- af en toe hadden we de indruk dat in de behandeling van de restaurants de auteurs ietwat bevooroordeeld waren. Restaurants waarvan wij het eten prima vonden stonden niet vermeld of kregen geen goede PR en andersom.

Maar... Al met al is dit een must-have als je de Carratera Austral gaat rijden.
