Matthew Skelton
Matthew Skelton (Hampshire, 1971) werd geboren in Hampshire en emigreerde naar Canada toen hij vier jaar was. Hij keerde terug naar Engeland om Engelse Literatuur in Oxford te studeren. Na zijn studie had hij diverse baantjes en werd hij assistent-onderzoeker bij een project over de negentiende-eeuwse historicus Macaulay. Hij stopte met dit onderzoek om Endymion Spring te schrijven. In die tijd woonde hij op een klein kamertje en had een bescheiden inkomen. De rechten voor Endymion Spring werden voor een aanzienlijk bedrag verkocht aan de Engelse uitgeverij Puffin/Penguin en de filmrechten aan Warner Bros.
