Zeer leuk boek om kennis te maken met de basisprincipes van DevOps. Geschreven in een luchtige taal en zeer herkenbaar voor elke IT'er. Geschreven in romanvorm dus geen saaie theorie om je doorheen te worstelen.

- het mag wel wat compacter
Als je wilt begrijpen vanuit welke dilemma's DevOps is ontstaan en wat de impact is op IT'ers, de organisatie van de IT en de integratie van IT in het bedrijfsproces, dan is dit boek een must. Als je the phoenix project en 'het doel' van Goldratt gelezen hebt, begrijp je waarom het 'a hell of a job is' om traditionele organisaties ......... te laten ontdekken dat ze echt moeten veranderen ( en daar is meer voor nodig dan bijv. het gebruikelijke 'kantelen')

Het boek geeft een goede inleiding over wat DevOps inhoudt en wat het voor een grotere organisatie kan doen. Het verhaal 'an sich' is niet groots, maar het is makkelijker leesbaar dan een pure beschrijving van wat het begrip inhoudt. Misschien is het iets te Amerikaans opgezet.

Als developer was dit boek voor mij een feest van herkenning. Alles wat mis gaat met software development, helder uitgelegd en ook nog met oplossingen, met het minimum aan theorie om het te onderbouwen. En geweldig geschreven waardoor je niet wil stoppen met lezen.

Het leest snel, het niveau van het engels is vrij verstaanbaar en het verhaal houdt effectief stand. Iedereen uit de IT en Business zullen enkele of vele gebeurtenissen herkennen, en daarom is het zelfs spannend te noemen. Men haalt er toch veel lessen uit omdat het niet zuiver theoretisch is maar vooral uit de practische hoek is geschreven. Een aanrader voor elke IT'er die zijk werk/toestand wil verbeteren en een aanrader voor elke Business-persoon die eindelijk wil begrijpen waar het bij de IT omgaat. Lezen dus dat boek !

Leuk boek om enige Agile concepten toe te lichten. Maar niet al te wetenschappelijk. Iedere ITer herkent wel de karikaturen uit het verhaal in zijn dagelijkse praktijk.
