Productbeschrijving

Muffat was een muzikale diplomaat. Geboren in Frankrijk van Schotse afkomst en opgeleid in zowel Frankrijk als Italië, beschouwde hij zichzelf als een Duitser. In zijn instrumentale werken, uitgegeven in de laatste twee decennia van de 17e eeuw, probeerde hij de Duitsers kennis te laten maken met Franse en Italiaanse stijlen, en zijn vijf gepubliceerde bundels werden voorafgegaan door informatieve meertalige inleidingen waarin Lully's en Corelli's uitvoeringspraktijken in detail werden beschreven.
