Samenvatting

These are the (erotic) Journals of Michael Ordeal. He retired from civil service at the age of 63. Having nothing better to do, he decides to screw himself to death. He has spent his entire adult life in the Far East, mostly in Korea and Japan, and the Philippines. Probably the main reason is the allure of their women. As an older man, with money, he patronizes the entertainment districts, the gay quarters. In Korea it was the infamous Hooker Hill in Seoul. In Japan it was mostly China Town in Yokohama. In the Philippines it was Mabini, Ermita, in Manila. Ordeal retires to an idyllic (fictional) island in the Pacific called Nevahachi, where the women are plentiful and willing. Neva = never; hachi is the last part of the Japanese word shakuhachi, which means flute and/or blowjob. He has the prowess. He has the money. In his first year (2000, The Magnificent Ordeal) he achieves a modest 340 Sex Acts (SA). In his second year (2001, Viagra-Niagara) he achieves 380, surpassing one of his initial goals -- more than one a day. Now in this tome, his third year (calling himself Don Quihorny), he reaches 460. A strange thing happens, defying his plans. The more sex he has, the better he feels, the longer he lives. It is the year 2015 and Ordeal is still writing of his exploits. The girls of Nevahachi are alluring. They may not be the prettiest in the world, but for him they are very sensual. They are Eastern. They know how to please a man (they want him to come back). As far as he is concerned, they give the best oral sex in the universe. It becomes a game for him. 460 SAs, 156 Big O's, Batting Average .339. He has a (Tue and Fri) steady, Rosalyn, who accounts for more than 50% of his scores. He hits on 40 different vessels. Half of these are one-night stands. Twenty-three of them are new to the Journals. He develops an annual award, the Wannamaker Trophy, for the girls who score the most. Familiar names in his diaries. This year the top three are pretty little Kimberly (27), the big humper BigCyd (26), the ever-present Amy (23). Ordeal writes (lovingly) of a Red-Light District (RLD) in Nevahachi that he frequents. He calls it the Train Station, because most of the island's RLDs are near train stations -- to catch the office-worker / wage-earner on his way home. Unfortunately, as the island progresses, the older sections of town get razed, taller apartment buildings are erected in their place. His beloved train-station RLD is later demolished, for the sake of a department store (and enhanced train station). The houses in the Nevahachi RLD are known as glass houses, because the girls all sit / stand in the windows. The windows are really doors that extend from floor to ceiling. There is a front lobby, where the girls display themselves, then rooms in the back. They rarely venture out into the street. Sometimes, if they're really interested, they'll rap a coin on the window. The RLD, the glass houses, have an aura all their own. There is a pink haze to the area. It is generally quiet, yet it has a sense, a smell, that can be detected for miles around. It is a mixed bag for Ordeal. Most of the girls don't like foreigners (hairy barbarians?). Yet the few who do (older / seasoned?) provide out-of-this-world service. Perhaps, in that way, he does not get bored. It is still a hunt; albeit, with a high scoring ratio. All of the girls he meets are independent entrepreneurs. There are the ubiquitous mama-sans, who get their take; but no pimps. The girls are free to come and go. It is accepted on the island. The question becomes: Where is the crime? Who has been hurt when she asks you to come back? In fact, when the local government tried to shut down some of the establishments, the prostitutes demonstrated (in the streets).
