Nicolaes Berchem (Haarlem 1621/22 - 1683 Amsterdam) is the main representative of Italian landscape painting in the Golden Age of Dutch Art. The warm, overflowing southern light gives its charming landscapes an incomparably atmospheric charm that the viewer can hardly escape. During his lifetime, the artist's paintings were so appreciated that he was one of the few well-paid painters of his time! Numerous brilliant illustrations and exciting texts by leading experts invite you to rediscover this outstanding painter of the Golden Age.
