In the small town of Hamlet a body floating in the lake is quite
a shock for its quirky residents. When a second body is found
they expect Sam MacNeil, mystery writer, who is temporarily
shackled to his hometown, to solve the murder. The authorities
do not need Sam's help, but the locals know their small town
sheriff is not a detective. Sam is only house sitting and has
no intention of getting involved in murder mysteries, romantic
entanglements or reacquainting himself with the town's
whimsical ways. But can Sam really remain just an observer?
And the more questions he asks the more it seems he may need
to figure it out before he becomes the next victim.
