Samenvatting
This is part of a series of books in which particular verses are picked from books of the bible, and the issues of The Power of God are explored, in the light of the mind of God for us.
In this book, we explore eight topics, from different verses in the books of Lamentation, Ezekiel, and Daniel. They are: The presence of God dissolves fear; Visions of God; God's outstretched hand; Trust; Most High and ruler; Daniel stopped the mouth of lions; Deliverer; and Encouragement and protection from heaven.
Excerpts:
The presence of God dissolves fear
"Lastly, Paul introduces Timothy to the Holy Spirit as the Spirit of sound mind i.e. sound perception. A perception that mimics that of Christ himself, as it is written, we have the mind of Christ (1Corinthians 2:15-16). The way you perceive or analyse events could either open the heart to fear or to faith. But we have the spiritual equipment in the spirit of sound mind that is, the Holy Spirit colouring our thinking and making it possible for us to be unhindered, have our thinking uncluttered, by the spirit of fear; with the spirit of sound mind fully operational in us, empowering us to think like God would, so that when our thoughts are his thoughts out ways can be his ways (Isaiah 55:6-9, 2:3)."
Visions of God
"So in increasing intensity, we have dream (possibility of forgetting is high and it may just be as a result of multitudes of activities during the day, but it can also be a message from God), waking dream (you have it in between waking and sleeping [greater retention]), inner picture (still photo), spiritual vision (video inside yourself), trance (video and audio, senses suspended), open vision (video and audio, interacting with the spiritual world as if it is natural, senses intact), transportation vision (there is video, audio, senses fully aware in the outer spaces/the timeless realm)."
God's outstretched hand
"In the ministry of Paul and Barnabas, when a certain Jew, a sorcerer, wanted to oppose the word of the God in the life of a certain ruler, Paul declared that the hand of God will come upon him and he will be blind for a season. It happened immediately (Acts 13:11)."
Trust
"Faith has to do with changing situations by the power of God. It is actually disobedience to not have faith because Jesus said: have faith in God (Mark 11:22). That is a commandment. There is the obedience of faith that both attracts God to you and activates the God-dimension in you. God calls the things that are not as though they were, meaning that he wills things to be by making declarations about them even if they never existed before (Romans 4:17). In faith we activate that possibility with ourselves."
Most High and ruler
"Jesus has also attained to the rulership of heaven and earth. When He resurrected, he appeared to the disciples, but Thomas was not with them. He got to know afterwards, but he said that he would not believe their testimony, unless he sees for himself. Then Jesus appeared again to the disciples when he was with them, and speaking to Jesus, he said: my Lord, my God (John 20:19-28). The resurrection caused Jesus to attain lordship in all realms. He was able to say to his disciples after his resurrection that all powers in heaven and on earth have been given to him (Matthew 28:18)."
Daniel stopped the mouth of lions
"In Jesus we have our righteousness, in him our faith stands firm, and we use his name in prayer. He therefore represents for us victory over the lions of this world, whatever they are, and victory over whatever seeks to consume us."
