Henry Rowe was a professor of History and Sociology at Newton Theological Institution. In the preface to Society Its Origin and Development the author states that it is necessary to study a child in his home and environment before we look at society as a whole. Sociology should be studied the same way we study biology by dissecting the whole into parts. This book is an introduction to the study of sociology.
