Ron Klinger

Ron Klinger is probably the world's leading bridge author and teacher with more than fifty books to his credit. He is also an Australian Grand Master and a World Bridge Federation International Master. To keep up with the latest news about Ron, take a look at his blog . Born in Shanghai in 1941, Ron has lived in Sydney, Australia since 1946. He gave up the law to make bridge his career and achieved early success in the Australian State and National Championships. Ron has played five times in the Far East Championships, winning the Teams in 1970 and the Pairs twice, in 1985 and 1987. Ron Klinger is one of the world's leading bridge authors and teachers with more than 50 books to his credit. He is also an Australian Grand Master and a World Bridge Federation World Master. He has represented Australia in the World Championships in 1976, 1978, 1980, 1984, 1988, 1989, 1993, 2000, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011 and is about to represent Australia at the 2012 World Championships in Lille, France in August. He won the Bols Brilliancy Prize at the 1976 World Championships and has created his own "Power" system of bidding. Ron was editor of Australian Bridge for thirteen years since 1972, making it one of world's leading bridge magazines. He was also the bridge columnist for the Australian Women's Weekly and later, The Daily Telegraph and The Weekend Australian. He is currently the bridge columnist for The Sydney Morning Herald and has a regular column in Australian Bridge magazine and Bridge Plus magazine (England).
