East to the Sun

From the time he was a young boy in the early 1900's, Phillip Martin knew that life would hold fantastic adventures for him. Join him on his epic journey as he moves with his family to a gold-mining town in Alaska where he grows into a teenager. When his ailing grandparents can no longer manage their farm in California, he moves there with his parents and grows into adulthood while helping on their farm. One night he experiences a family tragedy that leads to a major life change which results in his ordination as a priest. As an adult under the Vatican's direction, he deals with the issues of World War II and the Civil Rights Movement of the 1960s in which he comes face to face with its brutal reality. Through it all, he learns the value of a human life--and what he must do to preserve it.
