Tessa Afshar is de auteur van onder andere 'De dief van Korinte' en 'Engelenbrood'. Tessa Afshar werd geboren in Iran en groeide daar op als moslima. Op haar veertiende ging Tessa Afshar naar een Engelse meisjesschool in Amerika. Toen Tessa Afshar haar opleiding aan deze school had afgerond, vestigde ze zich definitief in de Verenigde Staten.
