Elie Wiesel
Elie Wiesel (1928-2016) werd geboren als zoon van orthodoxe joden van Hongaarse afkomst. Op zijn vijftiende werd hij gedeporteerd naar Auschwitz. Deze ervaring is van grote invloed geweest op zijn leven en schrijverschap. Hij publiceerde meer dan veertig fictie- en non-fictieboeken, die veelvuldig zijn bekroond. In 1986 ontving hij de Nobelprijs voor de Vrede. Bij J.M.
