Het is een heel algemeen boekje over de problematiek binnen de wetenschap. Het gaat echter niet in op de achterliggende filosofie. Voor de hand liggende filosofen (Kuhn, Popper, Hempel, Lakatos, Feyerabend) worden niet of met onvoldoende diepgang besproken. Het leest heel makkelijk omdat er weinig theoretische informatie is. Geen aanrader voor wetenschapsfilosofie. Een beter alternatief is "What is this thing called Science?" van Chalmers.
