Nicholas Thomas (Tom) Wright (geboren in Morpeth in Northumberland op 1 december 1948) is een Britse Anglicaanse theoloog en nieuwtestamenticus. Hij was van 2003 tot 2010 bisschop van Durham in de Church of England. In die periode was hij ook lid van het House of Lords. Sinds 2019 is Wright als senior research fellow verbonden aan Wycliffe Hall, een theologisch college van de Universiteit van Oxford. Naar Wright wordt regelmatig verwezen als 'de belangrijkste' hedendaagse nieuwtestamenticus. Daarbij wordt dan vaak genoemd dat hij zowel zeer geleerd als uiterst populair kan schrijven. Dat blijkt onder meer uit zijn complete serie over de boeken van het Nieuwe Testament die als afzonderlijke delen en ook als goedkope complete set leverbaar zijn. Daarin neemt hij de lezer echt mee in het verhaal en hij spreekt hem aan in zijn dagelijkse leven. Dat geldt ook voor zijn andere boeken over diverse onderwerpen. Bestseller werd zijn biografie van de apostel Paulus, die al vijf keer herdrukt is.
