It is a traditional medicines for their primary healthcare of 80% world's populations. About 200 species of isabgol are available in the world out of which, 10 are commonly found in India. Plantago ovata F. known for superior quality husk is preferred over others. It is also used for treating constipation and intestinal disorders because it works as calorie free fibre food and promoting regular bowel movement.
