"Annelies Marie (Anne) Frank (Frankfurt am Main, 12 juni 1929 – Bergen-Belsen, (waarschijnlijk) februari 1945) was een uit Duitsland afkomstig Joods meisje dat bekend is geworden door het dagboek dat ze schreef tijdens de Tweede Wereldoorlog, toen ze ondergedoken zat in Amsterdam. Zij stierf aan uitputting en/of vlektyfus in het concentratiekamp Bergen-Belsen. Haar dagboek is postuum gepubliceerd en een van de meest gelezen boeken ter wereld. Anne Frank is opgenomen in de Canon van Nederland als een van de vijftig thema's van de Nederlandse geschiedenis.
