Neil Gaiman
Bestselling author Neil Gaiman born 10 November 1960, is one of the top writers in modern comics, as well as writing books for readers of all ages. Neil Gaiman has already been known for writing brilliant stories with often macabre twists. One of his other books that I adored was Neverwhere.
This book does not disappoint. The story is about a princess who is tired of being one and sets out to rescue another princess, who has fallen asleep.
This is not what you think! It's funny and touching and adventure. The drawings are amazing. Simply, it's a short book, a work of art.Vond je dit een nuttige review?10 -

De prachtige lijntekeningen van Chris Riddell vullen bijna de helft van dit fraaie boekje. Ze begeleiden dit sprookje en voegen elementen toe aan het verhaal die je doen glimlachen. Dit is een sprookje, in een sprookjeswereld met magie, prinsessen en dwergen en alles wat je in een sprookje verwacht, behalve de prins op het witte paard. Nou ja, hij is er wel, maar in een hoekje van het verhaal. The sleeper and the spindle refereert aan bekende Noordeuropese sprookjes, maar is verrassend en onvoorspelbaar. Voor kinderen en volwassenen die wel eens wat anders willen dan ‘ze leefden nog lang en gelukkig’.
