Warning: The CD-Rom is only compatible with Windows! So if you have a Mac save a few euros and buy the book without the CD-Rom.

I would have given the book alone 5/5 stars if it weren't for the CD not working on a Mac (which isn't mentioned anywhere in the description). The book itself however is not just for intermediate to more advanced French students, as a beginner I had no problem understanding the explanations and doing the exercises in the book. The chapters are all divided clearly according to the different verb tenses and whether they are regular or irregular. The explanations are clear and each section is accompanied by a few (not too time consuming) exercises that allow you to check whether you've truly understood it all. This book is not for expanding your vocabulary or even really your conversational skills, but is perfect for working on your verbs, verb tenses and overall grammar.
