Er is bij het lezen van dit boek, zoals met veel voor dummies, geen enkele voorkennis nodig (hoewel dit natuurlijk wel handig is want dan kun je specifieke hoofdstukken overslaan). Er worden software pakketten aanbevolen vanuit het boek en uitgelegd hoe je deze kunt instaleren/gebruiken. Geweldig boek om aan te schaffen als je geinteresseerd bent in het maken van je eigen apps.
