Dark Continent van Mazower is een prachtig boek; als je één serieus boek over de twintigste eeuw zou willen lezen, dan zou ik je dit boek willen aanraden. Ondanks het serieuze en ingewikkelde onderwerp is de schrijfstijl duidelijk en toegankelijk voor een ieder: de geringe lengte kan enerzijds gezien worden als een tekortkoming (veel details worden weggelaten), maar anderzijds komen de grote lijnen hierdoor veel sterker naar voren. Een aanrader!
