Samenvatting

High-school teacher Farzin Rouhani steps out of his house on the last day of spring of 1981. Walking under Tehran's sizzling midday sun, his stroll towards his lover's apartment is interrupted. His timing could not have been worse, for an unauthorized opposition rally is in full swing which in turn provokes the retribution of the government. Farzin is caught in the middle of the chains and clubs. His hopes for seeing his friend quickly evaporate. That is not all. He is mistaken as an organizer of the march and arrested. The arresting officer begins interrogating him in jail - a process that spans the entire summer. His mission is to discover why Farzin despite a government ban was where he was and what his role was at the rally. Farzin cannot reveal the truth because the penalty for being gay in the Islamic republic is death.
