Ik kende de schrijfster van haar Italiaanse historische romans en was benieuwd naar deze variant. Onderhoudende vertelconstructie: zijn de 2 versies de scenario's die de achterblijvers verzinnen? Of vond de schrijfster het gewoon leuk om 2 verschillende wegen te bewandelen? Leuk om op een gegeven moment me te realiseren dat een voorval in de ene versie op de een of andere manier ook in de andere versie moet plaatsvinden. Hoe dan? En aan het einde weet je nog niet wàt er nou gebeurd is, het kan allebei. Kortom, lekker leesvoer voor in de vakantie. Makkelijk geschreven, makkelijk te volgen, makkelijke opinies, beetje sex en huiver erbij: chicklit op niveau als je het mij vraagt.
