Mark's essentials of medical biochemistry is, zoals de titel het zegt, essentieel voor kennis van medische biochemie. Het is echter minder geïllustreerd dan van mij zou mogen en de stof is nogal taai, maar daar is niet zo veel aan te doen. Een grappig aspect van het boek is dat ze soms klinische voorbeelden gebruiken en de patiënten dan toepasselijke namen geven. De klinische voorbeelden helpen je echt goed om te begrijpen wat de biochemie in de praktijk kan betekenen en dat helpt goed bij het leren.
