"David Keith McCallum jr. (Glasgow, 19 september 1933) is een Schots acteur, die voornamelijk in Amerikaanse films en televiesieseries optreedt. Hij is de zoon van concertmeester en violist David McCallum sr. Hij werd vooral bekend door zijn rol als Illya Kuryakin, een Russische geheim agent in de televisieserie The Man from U.N.C.L.E. uit 1964, en de invisible man (televisieserie uit 1975) en anno 2003 als Dr. Donald ""Ducky"" Mallard in de serie NCIS. Hij bezocht de Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in Engeland en werd assistent-toneelmeester van de Glyndebourne Opera Company in 1951. In 1962 speelde McCallum de figuur Eric Ashley-Pitt in The Great Escape. Hij was van 1957 tot 1967 gehuwd met actrice Jill Ireland. Zij hebben drie zoons: Paul, Jason en Valentine. Sedert 1967 is hij getrouwd met Katherine Carpenter. Zij hebben een zoon, Peter, en een dochter, Sophie. David en Katherine McCallum wonen in New York.

Personality and Dangerousness traces the history of the category of antisocial personality disorder, showing its emergence to be linked to particular kinds of governing, rather than simply to advances in the human sciences or as a means of social control.
In the aftermath of the Port Arthur shootings, Dunblane or the schoolyard killings in America, communities try to come to terms with private and public trauma and there is a need to understand what kind of person can commit such terrible acts. The problem of how to understand dangerousness often centres on the role of the mental health and criminal justice systems and it is from the intersection of these two institutions that the categorisation of dangerous persons has emerged. This 2001 book traces the history of the category of antisocial personality disorder and shows how it is linked to particular kinds of governing. It examines key legal and institutional developments in Australia, the UK and the US and also parallel developments within psychiatry and psychological medicine. Applying a social theoretical analysis to this material, McCallum challenges our assumptions about the formation and control concepts of dangerousness and personality.
