Ondanks het feit dat Lennon & McCartney verantwoordelijk waren voor het leeuwendeel van de composities van The Beatles, bevatte bijna ieder Beatles album wel 1 of meerdere tracks van de hand van George Harrison. While My Guitar Gently Weeps, Here Comes The Sun en Something zijn allen Harrison composities. De laatste is zelf het op 1 na meest gecoverde Beatles nummer.
Na de Beatles heeft Harrison een indrukwekkende serie albums gemaakt, eerst op Apple, en vervolgens op Dark Horse, en boekte hij successen met singles als My Sweet Lord, What Is Life en Got My Mind Set On You.
