Vertebrate Palaeontology is een typisch textbook geschikt voor paleontologie studenten maar ook voor geïnteresseerden. Het boek heeft een sterke focus op de fylogenie van vertebraten. Basale kennis over evolutiebiologie is wel een vereiste.
Het boek bevat ook zeer gedetailleerde informatie met veel vaktermen, vaak als uitleg van taxonomische schema’s. Maar dit is netjes gescheiden van de hoofdtekst. Dus ook experts kunnen het boek als naslagwerk gebruiken.
Ik heb het boek nu anderhalf jaar in mijn bezit en merk dat ik na het lezen toch regelmatig het boek weer opensla om er iets in op te zoeken of opnieuw te lezen. Vaak haal ik er dan weer inzichten uit die ik aanvankelijk niet oppikte. Dit geeft ook wel aan dat het een redelijk informatierijk boek is wat voor lange tijd bruikbaar blijft en is het geld meer dan waard.Vond je dit een nuttige review?40
