Graham Chapman
In 1967 maakte Chapman samen met John Cleese, Tim Brooke-Taylor en Marty Feldman het komische programma At Last the 1948 Show (waarvan veel afleveringen inmiddels verloren zijn gegaan). Hij werkte met dezelfde mensen samen in The David Frost Report en How to Irritate People.

It was Keith Moon who urged late comedian-actor-writer-Monty Python Graham Chapman to have a shot at the pirate - so you could say it was all Keith's fault. The result was Yellowbeard, an uproarious novel and cult film starring a bodice-ripping cast of comedy actors, from the Pythons to Cheech and Chong, via David Bowie.
Our story begins on the Spanish Main, where a grim grandee and his evil inquisitor gloat over their gold. With blood-curdling oaths Yellowbeard ('a vile buccaneer so scurrilous he puts the ''rat'' back into pirate,' said Chapman) strikes. But having made off with the loot, he is captured and confined to HMP St. Victim's for the Extremely Naughty. Naturally he escapes, and goes in search of his treasure - using a map tattooed on his son Dan's head.
Compiled and edited by Jim Yoakum, Chapman's literary executor, this volume brings together the novel and screenplay for the first time, along with an extended forward about the making of the film and exclusive material from the Graham Chapman Archives. For anyone who likes pirates, pythons or beards, here is the ultimate Yellowbeard collection.
