Justin Cronin
Justin Cronin is geboren en getogen in New England in de Verenigde Staten. Hij studeerde af aan de Universiteit van Harvard en volgde de Iowa Writers’ Workshop. Cronin schreef eerder de veelgeprezen romans The Summer Guest en Mary and O’Neil. Hij heeft al vele prijzen gewonnen, waaronder de Stephen Crane Prize en een pen Hemingway Award. Justin Cronin heeft gestudeerd aande Harvard University en volgde de Iowa Writers’ Workshop. Na zijn studie ging hij les geven in creatief schrijven aan de La Salle University in Philadelphia waar hij tevens ook kon gaan wonen als een “author in-residence”. Hier verbleef Cronin van 1992 tot 2005. Momenteel is Cronin een is docent Engelse literatuur aan Rice University en woont samen met zijn vrouw en kinderen in Houston, Texas.
Cronin is met name bekend door de trilogie waarvan het eerste boek The Passage heet, vertaald naar het Nederlands als The Oversteek. Het verhaal gaat over een post-apocaliptische vampier en van de gehele trilogie zijn de filmrechten reeds verkocht.
