Mooi en compleet naslagwerk voor de natuur in oostelijk Afrika. Vooral vogels maar ook alle andere diergroepen komen aan bod. Zelfs de subsoorten woorden af en toe behandeld.
Een groot minpunt vind ik wel dat het snijden van het boek niet goed is gegaan. Aan de bovenkant vallen soms de koppen van de dieren weg, zoals bij de vogels en daarbij is het soms erg belangrijk om te weten welk (sub)soort je hebt. Verder is mijn exemplaar van 2000 ipv 2002, dit zou niet veel verschillen opleveren, maar is toch erg jammer.

Mooi overzichtelijk boek met duidelijke foto's, soms wat lastig dat de woorden gebruikt in het Engels niet altijd gangbaar Engels is. Verder ook handige kijk- en fotomaaktips. Ook handig dat niet alleen de zoogdieren, maar ook de vogels, amfibieën en bomen en planten er in beschreven worden. Een heel compleet boek.
