In mijn review van The Darkness heb ik weergegeven dat Ragnar Jonasson meer levert dan een spannende thriller, Nordic Noir met soul and a twist. Ik ben met dit boek begonnen, daarna deel 1 gelezen en ik loop al warm voor The Mist deel 3 van deze trilologie.
The Island is een prima boek, Hulda is een tamelijk complex karakter. I like her, maar....
Alle pluspunten uit the Darkness zijn ook hier aanwezig, het is nooit zwart wit bij Jonasson, het leven kent meer dan 50 tinten grijs.
