Ava Goes to to the Beach with Friends is the second book in the Ava Goes...series. This book is about a child with autism who goes to the beach for the first time. This and all of the books to follow are from a child's point of view. Children with autism are often presented with "social stories" to familiarize them with new experiences. This book includes a resource page for parents to support them as they advocate for their child with special needs. A portion of the authors royalties from the original sale of this book are going to the UC Davis MIND Institute and Stanford Universities Autism and Developmental Disorders Research Program for the respective continued research in autism.
