Het was even een gedoe om uit te zoeken hoe ik de witte versie van deze fiets moest bestellen.

Bij navraag bij de klantenservice kon ik dat na de bestelling aangeven bij de klantenservice. Dit hebben ze helemaal goed opgepakt waardoor ik uiteindelijk zonder problemen de witte fiets geleverd kreeg. De levering gebeurt niet binnen 1 dag, maar kan 1 tot 2 weken duren. De levering werd bij mij gebracht door Fedex. Vooraf kon ik via een link een aflever afspraak maken, erg prettig. Ter plaatse heb ik de bezorger even helpen tillen, want het is een grote zware doos.

Ik was zelf al bekend met Engwe ebikes. Omdat er steeds meer controles komen wilde ik overstappen naar een legaal alternatief. Deze fiets voldoet met zijn 250w motor aan de Nederlandse regelgeving, en voelt even krachtig aan als de illegale fietsen van 750 watt. De motor maakt wel wat geluid, maar voor deze prijs kan je daar niet over klagen vind ik.

Het gashendel van de fiets was bij levering ingeschakeld. Wie op Youtube zoekt naar Engwe engine X kan eenvoudig instructies krijgen hoe je deze gashendel kan uitschakelen zodat hij aan de wetgeving voldoet. Prettig is dat deze fiets zonder gashendel snel reageert op draaiende trappers.

Wie deze fiets besteld moet wel beschikken over een klein beetje technische kennis, het voorwiel, de trappers en het complete stuur moeten afgemonteerd worden. Basic gereedschap is meegeleverd, maar om het stuur goed af te stellen is nog een grotere sleutel verreist die ik toevallig nog had liggen.

Hoewel de fiets een stevige bagagedrager en frame heeft, zijn de inklapbare plastic trappers van bedenkelijke kwaliteit. Hou er rekening mee dat je deze in de toekomst moet vervangen.

In tegenstelling tot eerdere edities van deze fiets, heeft deze fiets een fijne stevige standaard.

De remmen zijn goed, maar deze moet je nog wel zelf even afstellen. Net als de voorgangers heeft deze fiets ook last van piepende remmen wat soms wel 300km kan aanhouden voordat de piep verdwenen is. Ook hierbij denk ik; het zijn geen rampzalige dingen die je krijgt voor de prijs die je betaalt.
