Kamila Shamsie (1973) is in Pakistan geboren en opgegroeid. Ze heeft Creative Writing gestudeerd in New York en Massachusetts. Haar werk is veelvuldig bekroond en vertaald in 22 talen. Ze is door Granta geselecteerd als een van de beste jonge Britse auteurs. Momenteel woont Shamsie afwisselend in Londen en Pakistan en schrijft ze voor the Guardian.
