This book frames an optimal policy agenda for Egyptian decision-makers to create a better future for the Egyptian people in the face of today’s big crises. Mahmoud Mohieldin is Professor of Economics at Cairo University, UN Special Envoy for Financing the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, and UN High-Level Champion for Climate Change.

Hanan Amin-Salem is Managing Director and Global Head of Sovereign Advisory at Citi. She served as First Deputy Minister of Finance in Egypt from 2014 to 2016.

Amira El-Shal is Assistant Professor of Economics at Cairo University and Director of Research at the Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab.

Eman Moustafa is Research Manager at the African Export-Import Bank and Senior Economist at Egypt’s General Authority for Investment and Free Zones.

There is a significant discrepancy between the population of Egypt and the GDP of this country. This book offers pragmatic policy prescriptions for Egyptian decision-makers.
