Two Stories

Two Stories is a collection of two short stories written by Mike Parish. "This Is What Here Feels Like" follows an ex-Olympic swimmer who lives an isolated existence in a city suburb until he finds himself caught up in a series of coincidences involving women he barely knows, a violent hothead and a department store mannequin. In, "I Want To Know Nothing and Be Wrong About Everything," a bookstore clerk quits his job, leaving his life behind to live alone in a rundown motel on the side of a highway, burning through his savings on rent and dollar store food, while musing about the meaning of life, meditation and what it really means to work. Many years in the making, these are simple, sharp stories inspired by the writing of Raymond Carver, Haruki Murakami, J. D. Salinger and Charles Bukowski.
