Dit is een doeboek: het bevat een inleiding van enkele tientallen bladzijden, die voornamelijk bestaan uit gestileerde patronen die door (niet altijd even bekende) islamitische gebouwen worden geïnspireerd. Daarbij wordt uitgelegd in het begin dat zo'n patronen meestal gevormd worden door een selectie van verbindingslijnen uit een algemene constructie van regelmatige veelhoeken en ingeschreven en omschreven cirkels. Verder is er een bloc van zo'n voorgedrukte algemene patronen waarin dat je zelf op zoek kan gaan naar structuren om te selecteren, en kan je oefenen of je zelf de voorbeelden kan terugvinden.
