Written by Dr. Ian Q. Boos, who has used the treatments for over a decade, the book discusses the safest steroids with the fewest side effects, warns readers away from the most dangerous anabolic-androgenic steroids, compares and contrasts dosing methods, and explains how AAS can improve the quality of life for older individuals by redcucing or reversing some of the effects of aging, such as muscle atrophy, osteoporosis, and excessive visceral fat. The treatments also correct the loss of strength, lung capacity, positive attitude, and cognitive capacity.
Popular myths, misconceptions, and biases against the use of anabolic steroids are discussed at length, including those of the Olympic Committee, the scientific community, and society at large. The critical question posed is why the potent anabolics have always been tested and used in ever increasing dosages, and not in smaller, safer ones?
In his first book, the author references dozens of articles from the US National Library of Medicine of the National Institutes of Health, among others, to take the myths out of androgen use and reveal alternatives to ordinary treatments for age-related conditions.
