Etgar Keret (Tel Aviv, 1967) dook in Nederland voor het eerst op bij Uitgeverij Podium met 'Pizzeria Kamikaze' (2001). Zijn boeken verschijnen in vierendertig landen en hij publiceert onder andere in The New York Times en Le Monde.
Naast schrijver en universitair docent is Keret filmmaker. In 2007 won hij met zijn vrouw Shira Geffen de Camera d’Or voor de film 'Jellyfish'.

And in the masterpiece "Pineapple Crush," two unlikely people connect through an evening smoke down by the beach, only to have one of them imagine a much deeper relationship.
