Eric Hill (1927-2014) is geboren in Londen en overleed op 86-jarige leeftijd in Californië. In 1976 bedacht hij het gevlekte hondje Dribbel speciaal voor zijn zoontje Christopher. Hij vond het belangrijk te laten zien dat jonge kinderen intelligenter zijn dan volwassenen vaak denken. Zijn eerste boek Waar is Dribbel? (1980) was tevens het eerste flapjesboek ter wereld. Het werd een bestseller. Sindsdien is Dribbel een van de bekendste figuurtjes uit de internationale jeugdliteratuur.

Spot's visiting Grandpa at the fire station, where he decides he wants to be a fireman too! Grandpa gives him his very own fireman's helmet and they set to work.

Cheeky Spot slides down the pole, climbs the ladder, soaks Grandpa with the hose and finally sounds the noisy siren. Spot thinks he's a very good fireman, but Grandpa may not be so sure!
