Robert Jordan

Robert Jordan (pseudoniem voor James Oliver Rigney) werd in 1948 geboren in Charleston, South Carolina. Na zijn tijd in Vietnam haalde Jordan een graad in natuurkunde aan het Military College in South Carolina. Vervolgens ging hij bij de Amerikaanse marine aan de slag als 'nuclear engineer'. Toen hij gewond raakte en in het ziekenhuis terecht kwam, kon hij eindelijk weer veel lezen. Toen hij alles wat hem interessant leek had gelezen, begon hij zelf te schrijven, met Het Rad des Tijds als gevolg. Hij overleed in 2007.
