In 1662, another and more efficient effort was made to put an end to these difficulties. The General Court of Massachusetts appointed a Synod of all the ministers of that colony, to delib crate and decide on two questions; of which the most deeply interesting was, Who are the subjects of baptism? 1' This Synod met at Boston, in September, 1662. Though its members were all of Massachusetts, their proceedings affected the other colonies.
